Welcome to our website and a glimpse of our contribution to sustainable living.

Our course season 2008 is now closed after a very busy September. We are currently preparing the course program for 2009 which will feature more cob building courses, particularly several shorter ones as taster sessions as well as the 4-day and the 9-day courses which have been very successful in the last few years. We are also preparing a wider range of gardening courses.

If you are interested in spending some time at The Hollies and you have specific skills you can offer (for example administration, graphic design, funding research etc.) please contact us.

Our educational work with local schools is going from strength to strength, but funding it is a constant challenge - we are now looking for support from businesses who would feel able to fund our efforts to develop awareness of sustainable living in primary and secondary schools in Co.Cork - the schools themselves don’t have enough money to pay for this work, the government is too slow to jump in and we can’t spend all our time fundraising - maybe you can help with your connections.

We are eager to develop our educational work and would very much appreciate your contribution - if you are interested in any particular aspect of sustainable living and would like to learn more about it or if you have skills to pass on in a one day, half day or weekend workshop, please let us know and we can try to facilitate this.

We are also offering several services such as Communication Training, Mediation, Participatory Group Facilitation, Conflict Counselling, Team Building Activities, Natural Building Advice, Garden Design, and Teacher Training.

As always, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved as short or long term volunteers (minimum: 2 weeks) and in our work weekends where you can join us with natural building, gardening, or woodland management. Booking is essential and visits to The Hollies are strictly by appointment only.
