May 9th 2003 - The foundations are complete, apart from a bit of pointing. The walls were built on top of the rubble/lime trenches, and are all around two and a half feet wide. They are built with lime mortars and local renders, and look lovely, especially the sections done with field stone. We are now finishing off the pointing and then getting ready for the cob building, due to start at the beginning of June. In a couple of weeks work will also begin on the chimney stacks.
